Walking across the Eiffel Tower just after a rainy afternoon

Living life in one place is just too boring so welcome to my blog of travel stories!

I have been really busy working on so much data at work so was not able to release any write-up for April. Hopefully I will be able to release two nice pieces this month of May! Happy New month!

Its such joy when you get to know yourself and what makes you happy. Socrates couldn’t have put it much better when he said ” To know thyself is the beginning of wisdom” I found out one of the many things that makes me happy is travelling besides teaching, painting, swimming, reading and the list goes on. I found a level of joy travelling, a joy that seemed indescribable but cannot be compared with the joy of the Lord which is my strength :). I haven’t travelled the whole world yet but I am confident I have found my Soul home 🙂 ***drum roll*** allow me to introduce to you the city of Paris.

Oui!oui! oui!Paris est mon âme à la maison!!!

The first time someone told me about Paris, It was a kid I was home tutoring, little did I know I was going to fall completely in love with this amazing city. My favourite pass time in Paris was drinking coffee sitting on of those benches that never sit still while watching people pass by. The aroma of the coffee alone soothed my heart and brought a smile unto my face not to mention the hot croissant.

Oh Paris! You were my first love. You birth in me a desire to travel the ends of the world and to see the world with my heart not my eyes.

I love the rainy days in Paris because I get to say “il pleut” my favourite French phrase! You see, when it rains in Paris, I love to carry my umbrella as though  am starring in the movie” Midnight in Paris” and when its drizzling I would sit on the many stairs of the Place de l’Opera directly facing the streets ahead admiring the beauty of Paris, a city so rich in history and love. Try visiting Paris in September if you want to enjoy some rains and carry your umbrella or just walk and soak in the rain while falling in love with the city.

As I said earlier, I haven’t seen the whole world yet but I am certain I have found my soul home. Shopping and sight seeing for me do not come any where close to the amazing feeling of ease I get on those streets. Paris helped birth in me a love for travelling and Paintings and I will keep returning to Paris knowing that I can enjoy the breeze while sailing on the river Seine with a cup of coffee, enjoy the amazing works of art by likes of Picasso, Michelangelo, Leonardo Da-vinci, Edgar Degars, Monet and Van Gogh. I practically lived in the Louvre for a whole day (thank God the ticket was for a day)!

What Paris birth in me, I may not be able to completely describe however, I will be sure to live it out and pass it on to my children and grandchildren wink
